Wondering where to begin?
Maybe you’re feeling stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand - anxious, overwhelmed, confused, low, or not quite like yourself. I’m Vanessa, a UKCP Integrative Psychotherapist in training, and I work from the belief that change becomes possible when we feel genuinely heard and understood. Together, we can explore how these feelings have developed and what they might be trying to tell you.
There’s plenty of evidence showing that what matters most in therapy is the relationship. My hope is that, by working together, we can create a space that feels safe, supportive and confidential - somewhere you can show up just as you are.
In our sessions, there’s room to explore your experiences and talk through whatever feels difficult. We’ll look together at the challenges you bring. Often, this might involve reflecting on what’s happened in the past and how it may be shaping things now. We might also pay attention to how your body responds, and what it’s trying to communicate.
I bring a deep care to this work and a focus on staying grounded as we move through the messy and painful parts. Underlying my approach is a belief that therapy can deepen your understanding of yourself, support emotional growth and open up new possibilities - how things may be different in the future.
About me
I work with people facing a wide range of challenges, and offer both short- and long-term therapy depending on what feels right for you.
People often seek therapy when they're struggling with relationship difficulties, navigating big life changes, questioning their identity, or dealing with the impact of low self-esteem, anxiety, abuse, loss, depression or bereavement. These are just some of the areas I work with in my practice.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years working in human resources and organisational psychology, including at Director level in the corporate world. This gives me a real understanding of how demanding it can be to navigate both personal and professional pressures - and how it may get in the way of being the person you want to be.
Alongside my private practice, I’ve worked as a volunteer counsellor with different London charities and as an associate counsellor at a London university. I also spent over 15 years volunteering on a national helpline, offering support to people in crisis.
I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a Psychotherapist in Training and abide by their ethical guidelines. I have ongoing supervision with a an accredited UKCP/BACP registered psychotherapist and am studying for an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute.
My academic background includes a Certificate in Therapeutic Skills & Studies (Metanoia Institute), an MSc in Occupational Psychology (Goldsmiths, University of London), and an MA in International Relations and Psychology (University of St Andrews).
What next?
I see clients both face-to-face in central London and online. If you'd prefer to meet in person, my therapy room is on Eccleston Street (pictured), just a two minute walk from Victoria station. I currently have space for new in-person clients on Wednesday afternoons.
I offer weekly therapy on a short or long-term basis, depending on what feels right for you. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £65.
If you’d like to explore working together, the first step is to get in touch. We’ll arrange a short, free phone call where you can share a bit about what’s going on and what you’re hoping for from therapy. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions you might have. If it feels like a good fit, we can then arrange a time and place for our first session.
You’re welcome to reach out even if you’re not quite sure yet — I know taking that first step can be the hardest part.
